Artist statement

Fox & Fable is a labor of love. As I work with my hands, my mind drifts in flow state. I shift semi-precious stones, unique charms, intriguing findings, and fine metals in my workspace until I find harmony—not only in the look and feel achieved, but in the story the united piece tells me.

I am a trained and published poet, and I have always loved that the Greek word for poet also means maker. I like to make with both words and objects. My effort comes to life in wearable treasures that tell a story. I hope that when you wear my work, you feel the joy and care I've put into everything I do.

A note about AI: while I sometimes work with AI as a thought partner, the prose and poems I write are my own human creations.

About the maker

Kathryn T. S. Bass is the artist and maker-in-residence behind Fox & Fable. She holds a Ph.D. in poetry and is a trained and published poet based in Centennial, Colorado. Her academic background in language, symbol, and meaning informs every piece she makes — from the selection of materials to the names she gives each finished work. Fox & Fable is her artist-owned boutique specializing in handcrafted earrings, purse charms, and decorative hanging flair made with semi-precious and precious stones, rare findings, and precious metals including sterling silver and gold vermeil.
