About Fox & Fable

Hi, and welcome to Fox & Fable. I'm Kathryn T. S. Bass, the maker-in-residence here. My background is as a poet (I hold a Ph.D. in poetry) and I've always loved that the Greek word for poet, poesis, means maker. It brings me great pleasure to make things with my hands as well as my pen.

Based in Centennial, Colorado, my artist-owned online boutique offers handcrafted earrings, purse charms, and decorative hanging flair—wearable treasures built from semi-precious and precious stones, rare findings, and fine metals like sterling silver and gold vermeil.

Each piece begins in a kind of flow state. I shift stones, charms, and findings across my workspace until something clicks — not just in the look and feel, but in the story the united piece tells me.

Like poems, my creations are rooted in the pleasures of the senses: the weight of a stone, the warmth of gold, the way light catches an unexpected element.

I make one piece at a time, with diligent attention to technique and materials, and with humility and respect for others and the Earth we share. The result is one-of-a-kind or very limited edition jewelry pieces that carry symbolic meaning and personal significance.

Fox & Fable is a labor of love and a side hustle run by one maker: me. Offerings may sell out quickly, but custom work is always available for those who have something specific in mind.
